Thirty-two tenant members came to our AGM on 25 June and heard all about the activities of the last 12 months and plans for the future. Our new auditors, Chiene + Tait LLP, a local Edinburgh firm, attended too, and were re-appointed for the coming year. The Financial Statements (accounts) were accepted.
For the first time in over 32 years, there were more candidates (ten) than vacant places (eight) so an election ballot was held. Three of the four existing committee members (who had to re-stand) were re-elected, and five of the six new candidates were elected. This gave us a full Committee of 15 members, another first for a long time. The members of the Committee are listed elsewhere on this website.
The candidates were all thanked by the Chairperson for putting themselves forward and it did make for a more interesting and exciting evening, and a good boost for local democracy too.
