It is your responsibility to pay your rent to us – it goes to providing your service, repairs and improvements. If we receive HB on your behalf it is still your responsibility to pay any balance and report any changes of circumstances to the Council.
If you cannot pay your rent regularly we may take legal action which could, if nothing is sorted, result in Lister applying to the Sheriff Court for a court order granting Lister possession of your property. We wish to avoid this if possible, so please contact the Lister office as soon as possible. The longer you leave it the fewer options there are.
